A last minute trip to Kona with the girls.

The 3rd of all the Hawaiian Islands I've traveled to.

Nice condo and nice view. But first, a cocktail!

and another.....

and another!

Our favorite breakfast place had this sweet woman playing her Ukulele and singing Island songs during our Sunday breakfast of Kalua pork, Portuguese sausage and rice.

Road trip to the Southern end of the Island to see the Volcano. It was a rainy day.

Then on towards the the east side of the island to Hilo. But first a stop off at a black sand beach to see the turtles. I like turtles! :}

They say the few beaches with white sand are beaches that had the sand imported from other islands.

Just outside of Hilo are the most beautiful waterfalls and National Park. It was a long hike around the park, but the trees and moss and trails were lush and green and beautiful!

The farmers market had a great area of fresh tropical flowers and fruit. The colors were so vibrant...these organic earth grown beauties were like nothing else.

The dragon fruit was a must to try! It's was about as pink in the inside as the outside. Surprisingly it didn't have much taste..

You can't waste away part of your vacation without a little shopping.

Now I must just face the fact that summer is over and I must endure another winter season.

Sooke, BC Canada

Where you say?? This is a great little village about 20 minutes west of Victoria. There's not much to do, which is what we were looking for. But the hotel had a nice spa, and there was a nice walking trail out on a spit just a short walk from our room. We had no idea until we got there that they were celebrating Canada Thanksgiving!

But first...another ferry ride across San Juan de Fuca Strait.

And nice digs for the weekend. Great view from the room.

A nice walk out on the spit. We planned to do the loop and be on our way, but instead, we sat on a log at the tip and watched all the fishing boats come in for the evening. Beautiful.

Just enjoying the end of another Pacific Northwest indian summer..
